You can completely change the look and feel of your kitchen without having to gut it. That’s exactly what’s this homeowner wanted to do just weeks before her daughter’s high school graduation. She liked her kitchen space, loved the warmth of the wood cabinets and navy wall color, and didn’t want to make changes to her current layout. What she did want, however, was an expanded island space, that accommodated lots of seating and gave her plenty of room to food prep and entertain. She wanted an updated and refreshed countertop and backsplash, new appliances and a fresh look without losing her kitchen for an extended period of time. Hollis & Jay worked with her to do just that by expanding the island with cherry legs finished to match the existing counters. We added light gray and white quartz countertops and a simple subway tile backsplash, new lighting over the sink, and new appliances. The end result is a brand new space that incorporates what she loved about her old kitchen with what she wanted in a new one… without the headaches that come with a complete remodel!
